Wake up! Have we forgotten what the show was for? Listen! before you shut me out with your VIP door! It used to be that nosebleeds came from sharp elbows Now we're stuck in nosebleed seats suffering from vertigo We used to walk up to the band to shake their hands Now you can't get any where near them without a pass Music over matter! Music over matter! The records sweat of pile-ons and the feedback screams the discord Yet those who feel and long to see it can't even afford the ticket If all we could get is one wish, it's art that spits out the anguish Trend after trend, like after like, wealth's taken our truth and put it court side Wake up! Have we forgotten what the show was for? Listen, listen, listen before you shut me out with your VIP door! MUSIC OVER MATTER! MUSIC OVER MATTER!

Green! Take it! Mean! Shake it! All that I'm getting is nothing but stress If it's not the landlord, it the ****en IRS Money won't make my life any better Won't make myself crazy chasing that cheddar It's only paper and it's evil Making monsters out of people You're going to crack, just take it all back See it all subtract, see it all subtract, see it all subtract You think you've got it all? You think you've got it all? You think you've got it all? Well, you don't own me I'd rather not talk about getting paid Why don't you ask me about my day? All I need is some family time No, it's not about my bottom line It's only paper and it's evil Making monsters out of people You're going to crack, just take it all back See it all subtract, see it all subtract, see it all subtract! You think you've got it all? Well, you don't own me!

We don't have to fade into day Better late than never to your own masquerade How fortunate to live day by day You don't have to, they don't have to We don't have to fade You don't have to, they don't have to To fade into day

Is it time to give up the fight with day to day and this dying light? A once full list of higher hopes trickles down to checks in envelopes I am waiting for my ride And I am trying, but it's too hard to find I am wasting too much time just trying to get by, Just trying to get by Another train, the same old places All turn to gray until it all, until it all Another name but different faces All turn to gray until it all Erases Too far to go with no time to prove This notion that we are free with no way to move! Another train, the same old places All turn to gray until it all, until it all Another name but different faces All turn to gray until it all... Erases Until it all erases...

Whiskeytown 02:49
Ever feel that when it rains, it pours Especially when you're living in a place like New York? Did you take the wrong turn? Did you (make) the wrong choice? Ever feel stuck in a rut or just bored? Because when the world is bringing you down You wish your luck would turn around Lost in the dark, falling apart Don't take it all to heart Face your fears, take it all in stride Rest your mind, see a different light Take the bad as another ride Stop the fight because it'll be alright I know you know what I'm talking about in this cold, hard city Feeling down and out Pick yourself up off the ground and listen to this sound! Because when the world is bringing you down You wish your luck would turn around Lost in the dark, falling apart Don't take it all to heart! Face your fears, take it all in stride Rest your mind, see a different light Take the bad as another ride Stop the fight because it'll be alright Stop the fight 'cause it'll be alright! Stop the fight 'cause it'll be alright! Stop the fight 'cause it'll be alright! Stop the fight 'cause it'll be all right.

about

This record is for the working class people who struggle day to day as it is for the visibility of artists. There is a lot of diversity in this world and many conflicting understandings of how it may be possible to make a living doing your work. Just because we are underpaid does not mean we are under-classed. We hope this record gives hope and truth to those who need it - music is what keeps us honest, interconnected, and human.

With destruction, there is creation, and with creation, there is indestructibility. We Are TinVulva.

See you on the floor!

about

TinVulva Brooklyn, New York

From the depths of the Gowanus canal, TinVulva (aka TV) is an alternative punk-inspired band with riot grrrl soul and rhythmic grunge undertones.

What does TinVulva mean? Feminist? Queer? POC? Riot grrrl?
We're just misfits that like to rip it, and besides, where else would our voices be heard? Certainly not in the mainstream. MUSIC over matter!

See you on the floor!!!
